Some frames never go out of style - have you heard about the history of the famous Aviator shape? US Army Air Corps Colonel John A. Macready enlisted the help of Bausch & Lomb in 1929, to create sunglasses for pilots in the Navy and Marine Corps. He was concerned about the reduced visibility and sun glares at high altitudes. After a few years of trialling prototypes the Ray-Ban Aviator was patented with anti-glare and impact-resistant lenses. They also added ‘Kalichrome’ lenses, which are designed to sharpen details and minimise haze by filtering out blue light. The Aviator has been a fashion statement ever since!

Another popular frame is the wayfarer - a classic, stylish pair of glasses that is instantly recognisable as part of the Ray-Ban brand! Over the years, Ray-Ban has done an incredible job of keeping up with the latest trending styles that each decade brings - not an easy feat!
